This 08 days Kathmandu valley Relaxation Tour is all about getting to know the real Kathmandu Valley—at your own pace. For eight days, you’ll explore ancient temples, walk through quiet old towns, breathe in the fresh air from hillside viewpoints, and get a feel for how people live, pray, and celebrate here.

You’ll start in Kathmandu, which might feel a bit busy at first, but that’s part of its charm. You’ll wander through Thamel and Durbar Marg, perhaps stopping for street food or chatting with shopkeepers. Then we dive into the heart of the valley, where places like Swayambhunath, with prayer flags fluttering in the wind, and Pashupatinath, where life and death converge on the banks of a holy river, await us. At Bouddhanath, you’ll see monks walking around the stupa while soft chants and incense fill the air.

But it’s not all temples and rituals. You’ll also visit towns like Bhaktapur and Patan, where the streets are lined with red-brick houses and carved wooden windows. You’ll pass potters, weavers, and kids playing in the courtyards—life still moves slowly here.

To balance things out, we take you to peaceful places like Osho Tapoban, a forest retreat where people come just to be still, and Pharping, a quiet village with sacred caves and soft mountain air. There’s also a ride up to Chandragiri Hills—a quick escape from the city, with open skies and views of the Himalayas on a clear day.

And somewhere in between all that, we make time for simple moments—like walking through Asan Bazaar, where you’ll smell spices, hear bells ringing, and maybe buy something small to take home.

Day02

Visit Swayambhunath Stupa and Chandragiri

After breakfast, we embark on our cultural tour with a visit to one of Kathmandu’s most iconic and sacred landmarks, the Swayambhunath Stupa. Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, sits atop a forested hill and is believed to be over 2,500 years old. It holds deep spiritual significance for both Buddhists and Hindus. You must climb approximately 365 steps to reach the top of the stupa, from where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.

On the way up, you’ll see prayer flags everywhere, just moving with the wind. There are small shops along the path selling items such as incense and butter lamps. You might even spot a few monkeys hanging around with a ready pose, waiting for you to click their photos. When you reach the top, the big Buddha eyes painted on the stupa feel like they’re looking right at you as they represent wisdom and compassion. The golden spire shines in the sunlight, making the whole thing look even more beautiful.

Later, we will drive to the base station of Chandragiri hills, from where we will take a cable car ride to reach the top. As the cable car ascends steeply, you will see the Kathmandu valley below and majestic snowy mountains in the distance. Once you get to the top, you may stroll about, take pictures, visit the Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, or relax with a hot beverage while taking in the view of the distant peaks and rolling clouds. If you are lucky and the weather looks good and clear, then your eyes will be filled with a fantastic view of Everest on a clear day.

Once we spend some quality time there, we will head back to Kathmandu and drive you to your hotel. You can either stay and rest at your hotel or stroll around the lively streets of Kathmandu, Thamel, Durbarmarg, or Basantapur.

Day03

Visit Osho Tapoban and Pashupatinath temple

After breakfast, we’ll head to Osho Tapoban, a peaceful retreat tucked away on a forested hillside just outside Kathmandu. Surrounded by fresh air and trees, it’s a perfect spot to take a breather and clear your mind. This place is inspired by the teachings of Osho, a famous spiritual teacher, and people from all over the world come here to meditate, relax, and find some calm away from the busy city.

You can take a walk around the peaceful gardens, visit the meditation halls, or sit quietly and enjoy the calm atmosphere. Even if you’ve never meditated before, it’s a great place to take a break from the noise and connect with yourself for a while.

Later in the afternoon, we visit one of the most important Hindu temples in Nepal—Pashupatinath Temple. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located by the Bagmati River. As you walk around, you’ll see sadhus (Hindu holy men), small temples everywhere, and sometimes even funeral rituals happening in the cremation ghats along the river.

If we’re there at the right time, you might get to see the evening aarti—a special prayer ceremony with music, chanting, and the lighting of oil lamps by the riverside. It’s a beautiful and moving experience.

Day04

Visit Changunarayan Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square

After breakfast, we drive out of the city to visit Changunarayan Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples in Nepal, which dates back over 1,500 years. It sits on a quiet hilltop surrounded by small villages. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is full of beautiful stone carvings that are hundreds of years old. Changunarayan isn’t just an old temple—it’s a place that showcases the depth and richness of Nepal’s culture. The carvings and design reflect the country’s history and love for art. It’s also in a beautiful spot, and you’ll get some great views of the valley below.

After spending time there, we head to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. This area is rich in history, featuring numerous old temples, palaces, and courtyards. As you walk through, it feels like the past is still alive. Every building has a story—about kings, traditions, and daily life from long ago. This area features four squares within its premises, including Durbar Square, Pottery Square, Nyatapole Square, and Dattatreya Square. Durbar Square is the square where the old royal palace is located. Nyatapole Square, also known as Taumadhi Square, is home to the Nyatapole and Bhairavnath temples. Dattatreya Square is home to the Dattatreya temple, and Pottery Square was, and still is, the site of clay pot manufacturing. There are several major attractions to witness, including the 55-window palace, the five-story Nyatapola Temple, the Vatsala Temple, and the Golden Gate. There’s something to enjoy around every turn, be it a statue of a guarding lion, a secret temple, or regional craftspeople selling their handicrafts and other products.

Day05

Visit Patan Durbar Square and Bouddha (Bouddhanath Stupa)

Today, we will visit Patan, renowned for its vibrant art scene, centuries-old temples, and exquisite Newari architecture. We will be visiting the Patan Durbar Square here.

Patan Durbar Square is a stunning and ancient square dotted with temples, royal courtyards, and elaborate wood and stone sculptures. Within the Patan Durbar Square premises, you can explore the Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar), a secret Buddhist monastery adorned with gleaming brass and brimming with tranquil energy, as well as the magnificent Krishna Mandir, composed entirely of stone, the first of its kind in the Shikara style. Krishna Temple features 21 spires and a variety of artwork that depicts episodes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Additionally, there are four Ashoka Stupas in Patan, built in the 3rd century BCE, that mark the four corners of the city.

Later, we will visit the Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest, most sacred, and important stupas in the world. Once you reach the stupa, you will witness the enormous white dome with Buddha’s eyes, encircled by vibrant prayer flags. It keeps an eye out for moral behavior and people’s welfare with four pairs of eyes facing each of the four cardinal directions. Also, you can see the monks walking around the stupas spinning the prayer wheels. The surrounding market is crowded with stores and kiosks offering a wide range of souvenirs and traditional handicrafts. This beauty, peacefulness, and the calming environment are what draw people. To enjoy the greatest perspective of the stupa’s beauty, you should stand on the nearby rooftop of restaurants and cafes. You will get the best camera angles and can click some of the best pictures.

Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day06

Visit Kirtipur and Pharping

Today, we visit Kirtipur and Pharping, two serene and culturally diverse locations on the outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley. The first place we visit is Kirtipur, a little hill village with narrow stone-paved pathways, traditional Newari homes, and historic temples dotted around every corner. The town’s hilltop location offers beautiful views of the Kathmandu Valley below and has sustained the community and its traditions for years. You’ll visit some of Kirtipur’s historical highlights, including the Bagh Bhairab Temple, where swords and shields from ancient battles are still on display, and the Uma Maheshwar Temple, renowned for its serene surroundings and stunning architecture.

Later, we will drive to Pharping, a peaceful and spiritual community nestled among verdant hills. Pharping is a sacred location for both Buddhists and Hindus, which is also home to stunning monasteries, meditation caves, and serene prayer flags. The Asura Cave is one of the most unique locations in this area; it is believed that the saint who introduced Buddhism to Tibet, Guru Padmasambhava, meditated there. Still, many individuals come here to meditate or find serenity. Pharping has a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Whether you want to sit quietly and enjoy the silence or take a few moments to meditate, it’s the kind of place that helps you slow down and breathe a little deeper. You don’t need to do much—just being there feels good.

Overnight at Pharping.

Day07

Drive back to Kathmandu and visit Asan Bazaar

After breakfast, we head back to Kathmandu. Once we arrive, we visit Asan Bazaar, one of the city’s oldest and busiest local markets. This place has been full of life for generations, and it remains as vibrant today as it was in the past. As you walk through the narrow streets, you’ll pass vendors selling all kinds of things—spices, vegetables, dried chilies, fabrics, incense, and everyday household items. It’s loud, colorful, and full of energy. You’ll get a real sense of how locals shop and live here.

It’s also a great place to pick up some souvenirs—maybe some handmade items, local herbs and spices, or small traditional gifts to bring home with you.

After finishing strolling around the bazaar, we will drive you to your hotel. It’s your last whole night in Kathmandu, so make the most of it anyway you see fit, whether that means sleeping, going out to stroll around the Thamel area, or exploring a little more on your own.
